This New Halal Chinese Restaurant Offers Peking Duck

Mr. Chang (@mrchangnyc) is the neighborhood’s new halal Chinese spot, but this particular spot is serving authentic halal peking duck. We will come back some other time to try the peking duck as it wasn’t available at the time however we tried a few other dishes.

Szechuan Chicken

Food: 8/10
We got the Szechuan Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Pan Fried Noodles, Sesame Chicken, Beef Dumplings, spicy Chicken Wings, and Egg Drop Soup. Generally the food was very good, some dishes were a little too salty, but other than that we are coming back for that Szechuan Chicken. It’s nicely coated and very delicious. The Beef Dumplings were phenomenal and you have to coat it in chili oil for maximum flavor. If you like crunchy noodles, order the Pan Fried Noodles as it comes with (obviously) noodles that are pan fried with mixed meats like shrimp, beef, and chicken. They also have bubble tea floats, not pictured, but those were also pretty great. We got the fruity pebble float and it’s a treat. The Egg Drop soup was also solid, mild flavor as it should be with its iconic gloppy texture.

Price: 7/10
Prices are a little more on the expensive side compared to a standard Chinese take-out place. We assume its because this restaurant offers a comfortable sit-down dining experience.

Atmosphere: 10/10
The restaurant is decked out in red walls and Chinese adornments. It’s clean, pretty spacious, and can seat about 25 people. It’s mostly fast-casual.

Service: 10/10
Your order is taken are your table and the food is brought out to you. The food comes pretty fast and servers are nice.
