New Halal Pizza Shop Establishes in Queens

El Forno Pizza & Grill (@el_forno_pizza_grill) is a new-ish halal addition to the Queens community. They host traditional New York slices and pies along with Italian plates in a fast-food setting.

Pepperoni slice

Food: 8/10
We tried the pepperoni slice, buffalo ranch slice, meat lovers panini, chicken parm panini, fettuccine chicken alfredo, and chicken over rice and beans. That buffalo ranch slice was absolutely bomb - it leaves a little tingle in your mouth from the buffalo sauce and ranch combined but makes an awesome bite. Pepperoni slice was standard from other (halal) places we’ve had it at before. Both paninis were great however we liked the meat lovers one just a bit more. The flavors were really on point and it wasn’t overwhelmingly “meaty” because there’s also some veggies in there too lol. We thought the fettuccine chicken alfredo could be portioned a bit more and while it was creamy, it just needed salt. The chicken over rice and beans was an unusual addition to the menu however we still tried it out of their recommendation and loved it.

Price: 8/10
Prices are pretty standard for a pizza aspect of the shop. A slice is $2.75. The paninis were $11-$12. Italian dishes are pricier.

Atmosphere: 8/10
It’s a clean small pizza shop that has some booth style seating for about 12 people.

Service: 10/10
You order up front and the manager or worker (who are the absolutely sweetest!) brings it to the table. Food comes pretty quickly. We will definitely be coming back to try other things on the menu.
